
Sweet & Sour Sauce w/Pinapple tidbits

Ingredients
- 3 tbsp of Cornstarch less for a thinner sauce
- 2 cans of Pineapple tidbits drain and reserve the juice from both cans
- 1-2 tbsp of Vegetable oil
- 2 cloves minced Garlic or to taste
- 1 pinch of Cayenne pepper
- ½ cup of Ketchup
- ½ cup of Brown sugar substitute with stevia brown sugar
- ⅓ cup of White vinegar
- 2 tbsp of Soy sauce
- Black pepper to taste (optional)
Instructions
- Drain both cans of pineapple over a bowl.
- Add/whisk in cornstarch until smooth and combined (there is no need to measure out the juice), and set aside.
- In a saucepan, heat oil over medium-low heat. Add garlic and a small pinch of cayenne pepper, stirring for 2 minutes.
- Add in ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, and soy sauce; cook, stirring until simmering.
- Add in the juice/cornstarch mixture; bring to a boil, stirring or whisking constantly until thickened.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 3-4 minutes.
- Mix in the pineapple tidbits.
- Season with black pepper to taste if desired.
- Keep refrigerated in a sealed jar or container.
