Maid-Rite Loose Meat Sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 1 lb of Ground beef
  • ¼ cup of Water or enough to cover meat
  • 1 tbsp of Yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp of Sugar substitute with stevia
  • 1 tbsp of distilled White vinegar
  • ½ cup of Onion chopped plus more for topping
  • 1 tsp of Salt
  • ½ tsp of Black pepper
  • 4 Hamburger buns split whole wheat
  • Toppings such as cheese ketchup, mustard, BBQ sauce, mayonnaise, and/or pickles, for serving

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, brown beef, over medium heat, while breaking up the clumps. Then add the diced onion, season with salt & pepper, and cook until the beef is no longer pink.
  • Drain the fat.
  • Mix in the vinegar, mustard, and sugar.
  • Add enough water to cover the meat, bring it to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer, until all the water is gone.
  • Serve meat on steamed buns with desired toppings.
